Here are the words that helped me overcome the loss of my pet.
They were: “Feeling lonely is proof that you loved your pet”
A friend of mine told me this phrase.
I had been telling my friends that I had a cat for a while.
I’ve even had friends stay over at my house and play with them.
When my cat died, it seemed like I was in a lot of pain, so they listened to me.
My friend told me then.
“That’s how much we loved him. I think the hard times will continue for a while.
I think that this hardship is proof that we loved him, and that Maru (the cat) was alive.”
When I heard that, the lonelier I felt, the happier I was.
It was the first time I’d ever felt this way, and it made me feel like I could keep going, no matter how hard things get.
In fact, the more hard it is, the more I think of it as proof that I care about Maru (the cat), and so even this pain makes me happy.
