We received a heartfelt review from a customer who ordered a custom knitted cushion of their beloved dog.
From Ruku’s Mom:
“Thank you so much for the wonderful cushion.
I gave it to my daughter as a birthday present.
When our family member Ruku, who had been with us for 16 and a half years, passed away, I quickly ordered the cushion. At first, I wondered if it might be too soon, since our grief was still so raw. But as our home gradually shifted back from being an elderly-dog-friendly space into a normal living space, I wanted to ‘add Ruku back’ to our lives.
When my daughter saw the cushion, she cried out, ‘It’s Ruku!’—and she wept. I cried too.
Now my daughter holds the cushion close, as if she were holding Ruku again.
Thank you for such a truly special gift.”
“I wanted to add Ruku back.”
That expression was so striking, and it beautifully conveys the deep love this family feels for Ruku.
Looking back, I realize that in my own home, little by little, the keepsakes of our beloved dogs and cats have also been disappearing.
We threw away the large kennel that had become too bulky to keep.
We discarded old bowls and worn-out toys.
And after renovating our house, I even felt a pang of sadness when I noticed that the scratches on the floor—marks left behind by our pets—were gone.
I imagine many of you reading this have had the same feelings.
It’s my hope that through our work, pets can continue to live on forever in your hearts and memories. I will keep doing my very best to create pieces that honor those bonds.
We knit yarn, draw pets in knitting patterns, and make cushions and blankets.
We hope that the warmth of our knitwear will accompany your memories and provide emotional support.
