It has been one year since our beloved dog Chobi passed away. While searching online for something we could do in memory of him, my wife and I came across the cushions made by Miasa Amimono Center. The moment we saw them, we both thought, this is it, and we quickly submitted Chobi’s photo.
The design sketch arrived almost immediately, and we were deeply moved because it looked just like Chobi. The second wave of emotion came when the finished cushion arrived—carefully wrapped, beautifully made, and so warm that it felt as if our beloved dog had truly returned to us. It brought tears to our eyes.

The Significance of One Year
The first anniversary of a pet’s passing can feel both very long and incredibly short, as if time flows differently than usual.
For many people, that one-year mark becomes the reason they visit our shop. Some even tell us:

Surprisingly, this is something we hear quite often.
After a year, people often find themselves able to look at photos with a different heart than in those early days of grief. Choosing a photo becomes a more positive experience, and the knitted texture—so different from a print—can awaken the feeling of their pet’s presence once more.

At my own home, I keep many sample cushions made with photos of my beloved cat, Maro. Each time my eyes meet his, I remember him and feel as though we are still living together even now.
