What should we do when we come across such a post?
Some people may want to offer support.
Conversely, others may be unsure of how to respond.
In this article, we will consider how to respond when you come across a post on social media.
When you want to support
When you want to comment
What kind of comments should you make to someone who has lost a pet?
It depends on your relationship with the person, and there are some words you should be careful about.
For more information, see What to say to someone who has lost a pet.
Would you like to comment or send a private message?
Many other people will see your comments, so it may be best not to write anything too in-depth. In those cases, messaging may be a better option.
However, there are some things to be careful of when messaging, as you may end up exchanging long messages.
This is an example from one of our customers, but sometimes we become so overwhelmed with responding that it interferes with our work.
It may be okay to have a relationship with family or a romantic partner, but if you’re only connected through social media, you may need to draw a line about how far you should go.
What to do if you’re in trouble
Now, let’s talk about what to do if you’re unsure of how to respond.
Is it okay to just ignore it?
The biggest question you’re probably wondering is, “Is it okay to just ignore it?”
Some people would rather just pretend they never saw it.
I think it’s okay to just ignore it.
In fact, I try not to get too involved with people I’m only connected with through social media.
On the other hand, with close friends or real-life friends, I send them messages instead of comments.
If you’re unsure what to comment on
If you want to write something but don’t know what to write, why not wait a while and see how things go?
It’s also a good idea to look at the comments other people have written and then comment based on what you’ve seen.
In reality, it’s true that you may be at a loss for words or unable to think of the right words. The closer you are to the other person, the more difficult it is to find the words to express when you’re feeling down.
If you feel heavy
I’m not good at socializing, and the same goes for social media.
If it starts to get too much, I try to take a break from social media for a while.
Some people post about their injuries or illnesses.
When someone posts a picture of an injury, it’s painful to be forced to watch.
At times like that, I sometimes temporarily unfollow them or take a break from social media.
I don’t look at my phone. I don’t access it. I log out.
I come back after taking a break for about a week.
If you can’t stop using social media, it might be a good idea to think about how the poster is feeling.

If you want to give a support gift
We’ve been making custom pet goods for 20 years.
Recently, we’ve seen an increase in people who find out on social media that a friend or significant other has lost a pet and immediately place an order.
When we hear from customers after they place an order, we can really feel their desire to support the person who lost their pet.
We’re working hard to live up to that feeling.
We hope we can be a source of support to you all.
