I caused the death of my pet through my own fault.
Some people think so.
From family and friends
“It’s not your fault.”
It might be said that.
But I can’t accept it myself.
Today, there is something I would like all of you to know.
I knit thread and create pieces that evoke memories of my pets.
As I create this memorial keepsakes, I receive consultations every day about pet loss. I’ve found that some people blame themselves for their pet’s death, but after hearing their stories, I often realize that it really wasn’t their fault.
I want you to know: you’re the only one who thinks it’s your fault.
Your dead pets probably wouldn’t blame you.
Please trust your pets.
In this blog, I want to speak to those who wish they could see their pet again and say, “I’m sorry.”
To those who feel responsible
Many people who want to apologize feel that they are to blame.
I didn’t notice my pet was sick.
I lost my pet in an accident.
There are various cases.
But I don’t think owners are to blame for not realizing their pet was sick.
We also hear stories from some of our clients of pets who were healthy until recently suddenly becoming ill and passing away shortly after.
Why didn’t I notice?
That’s because pets hide their pain.
They hide from us the fact that they are sick.
I think it would be difficult for anyone other than a veterinarian to spot this.
And sometimes you won’t know unless you get tested.
Pets will hide their illnesses even in hospital.
In the case of an accident, your pet may accidentally swallow something that they found on the road or get their neck caught in a toy.
As soon as I opened the door, he might have jumped out and gotten into a traffic accident.
Discipline is important to prevent this from happening, but accidents still happen.
If we knew in advance that an accident would occur, we could prevent it, but we don’t know what will happen in a second.
That was an accident.
After listening to everyone’s stories, I’m beginning to think that it’s impossible to prevent all accidents on my own responsibility.
Pets don’t want you to apologize
No matter how careful you are, accidents can happen, and many people fail to detect illness.
And when our pets die, will they hold us responsible?
Your pets are probably saying:
“I’m sorry I died. Thank you for everything.”
This is my experience.
I thought my cat had suddenly lost weight, so I took him to the vet.
The disease was already advanced and the young cat passed away within the next two months.
One day, while I was feeling guilty, I came across this question online:
“What would you like to do if you could meet your pet in heaven?”
I answered in my heart:
“I want to apologize to that kid.”
Then I muttered to myself, “I’m sorry.”
Immediately afterwards, a change of heart took place.
I felt like Maro (the cat) had forgiven me.
Rather than forgiving,
“Why are you apologizing?”
He looked at me with this expression.
To find out more about that time, please see the question “What would you do if you met?” and my answer at the time .
It was then that I first realized that the cat wasn’t blaming me.
And I thought I had to believe in that.
People who were able to apologize properly
We knit yarn and create custom knitted products featuring pet designs.
Our main product is knitted cushions, and after delivery, our customers say the following:
And the customer appreciation continues:
Customers apparently talk to the cushion and even stroke its head.
Sometimes you can give them a tight hug.
It is said that the warmth of the knitting makes you feel like you can feel the child’s body temperature.
Is the pet blaming you?
Do you think he’s angry?
No customer has ever said that.
Everyone tells me they can see each other again, hug each other again, and that they will continue to be together.
There is no more regret, no more remorse.
I would be happy if this could help ease your mind little by little.
Although I can only knit yarn, I feel that I am not just making cushions.
I think the cushion is complete only when you say “Welcome home,” welcome it into your home, and become an emotional support to it.
I received the cushion and now I talk to my pet every day.
I had been blaming myself for so long, but now I’m finally able to apologize.
When I hear that voice, I feel like the customer is okay now.
